NRA BASICS OF RIFLE SHOOTING

CURRENT CLASS:  Our 2022 Training Schedule Will Be Announced Soon!

TIME:  9 hours (approx.), Starting PROMPTLY at 8:00 AM

Please arrive by 7:45 for check-in

​

BRING:  Rifle and 150 rounds ammunition (rimfire rifles are REQUIRED for this course, due to range limitations), eye and ear protection, note taking materials, lunch/snacks and drinks, driver's license (must be a US Citizen or lawful permanent resident).

​

LOCATION:  Private Classroom, Cardinal Shooting Center

                  Marengo, OH 

​

INSTRUCTOR:  Janet Bryan and Sharon Williston-Benadum

​

CLASS FEE:  $125 total (not including range fees), $50 Non-Refundable Deposit is due at sign up plus range fees (please see Policies).

​

DESCRIPTION:  This class is the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course, and teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting.

Please note that we will have NO LIVE AMMO in the classroom, so secure your firearm and ammo in your locked vehicle outside for safety purposes during the classroom portion of the day.

This class includes instruction on:

-NRA’s rules for safe gun handling

-Rifle parts and operation

-Ammunition

-Shooting fundamentals

-Range rules

-Shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions

-Cleaning

-Continued opportunities for skill development

​

Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.
